Terms of Use
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Welcome to Daily Word Hunt. By accessing or using this website (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These terms are written for a free, browser-based word search product. They are not a substitute for legal advice tailored to your jurisdiction; we may refine them when the site is formally published under a specific operator entity.
1. The Service
Daily Word Hunt provides:
- A daily word search puzzle on the home page
- Optional past puzzles, print views, and tips / guides
- Related pages such as how-to, FAQ, and legal notices
Features may change, pause, or be discontinued at any time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You may use the Service without an account.
- If we add accounts or leaderboards later, extra rules may apply and will be posted before those features go live.
- You are responsible for any activity under optional credentials you create in the future.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape aggressively, or overload the Service
- Reverse engineer the Service solely to harm it or steal non-public assets
- Use automated means to cheat future competitive features (e.g. leaderboards)
- Upload or transmit malware, illegal content, or abusive material through any future forms
- Misrepresent affiliation with Daily Word Hunt
- Use puzzle content or branding in a way that suggests official partnership without permission
Personal, educational, and non-commercial play is welcome. Classroom printing of daily puzzles for non-commercial teaching use is allowed unless we post a more specific license later.
4. Intellectual property
- Site design, code, original copy, and original word lists we publish are owned by the site operator or used under license.
- You may not copy the site wholesale, rebrand it as your own commercial product, or redistribute puzzle packs as a paid product without permission.
- Word lists are intended to be general vocabulary; we do not claim rights to ordinary English words themselves—only to our selection, arrangement, puzzle layouts, and presentation.
- Third-party libraries and themes (for example open-source packages) remain under their own licenses.
5. User content (future)
If you later submit nicknames, scores, feedback, or other content:
- You grant us a non-exclusive license to host and display it as needed to operate the feature.
- You must not submit content that infringes others’ rights or is unlawful.
- We may remove content that violates these terms.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Puzzles will be free of mistakes
- The Service will meet every educational or accessibility need
Word definitions (“glosses”) are short and informal—they are not a substitute for a dictionary or curriculum.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the past 12 months (currently $0 for free play) or (b) twenty-five US dollars (USD $25), where such a cap is allowed.
8. Third-party links and hosting
The Service may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or policies. Hosting and CDN providers operate under their own terms.
9. Changes to the Service or terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes appear on this page constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where local law requires another process.
10. Termination
We may suspend or block access for abuse or risk to the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Governing law
Unless a mandatory local law says otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the site operator is established once formally designated. Until then, apply the laws of your place of residence for consumer protections that cannot be waived.
